Will Muschamp has been fired as head football coach at South Carolina after five seasons, according to a school release.
Offensive Coordinator Mike Bobo has been named interim head coach with three regular season games remaining.
"We will begin a search immediately to find the best head coach for Carolina football," Athletics Director Ray Tanner said in the release. "Our priority remains winning a championship at the University of South Carolina."
Bobo, Tanner and some players will speak to the media in a Zoom call tomorrow at 10 a.m.
The coaching change comes one day after the Gamecocks lost 59-42 at Ole Miss on Saturday night. Muschamp had a 28-30 overall record in his five seasons in Columbia, with three bowl game appearances. He went 17-22 in conference play.
The Gamecocks host Missouri at 7:30 p.m. this Saturday, Nov. 21.
